What’s New in the GlobeOne App?

Globe Telecom has rolled out a new feature in the GlobeOne app that allows users to convert their physical SIM card to an eSIM without visiting a Globe Store. The process is similar to purchasing a new eSIM, but with a few important requirements that you must meet before starting.

Requirements Before Converting Physical SIM to eSIM

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

1. An active physical TM SIM
   This is the SIM you want to convert into an eSIM.
   
2. Physical SIM must be the primary number in GlobeOne
   The SIM you want to convert must be linked to a GlobeOne account as the primary number.
   • If your GlobeOne account already has a different primary number, it’s recommended to create a new GlobeOne account using the SIM you want to convert.
     
3. Latest version of the GlobeOne app
   
   • For iOS users, the eSIM conversion feature is available starting from version 1.9.26 or later.
   • Update the app from the App Store or Google Play Store if needed.
     
4. ₱99 load or payment balance
   
   • You’ll need ₱99 to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM.
   • Payment can be made via GCash, debit card, or credit card.
     
5. Active email address
   
   • The QR code and payment receipt will be sent to your email, so make sure it’s active and accessible.
     

Steps How to Convert Physical TM SIM to eSIM

Follow these steps carefully:

Step 1: Log in to the GlobeOne App

Open the GlobeOne app and log in using the same mobile number (physical SIM) that you want to convert. This number must be set as the primary number in your GlobeOne account.

Step 2: Go to SIM Services

From the app dashboard:

• Tap SIM Services
• Select Change SIM
• Choose Physical SIM to eSIM
• Tap Continue

Step 3: Confirm and Verify

• Agree to the terms by checking the required boxes
• Tap Continue
• Wait for the verification code (OTP) and complete the verification process

Step 4: Enter Your Email Address

Enter your active email address carefully.
This is important because:

• Your eSIM QR code
• Your payment receipt

will be sent to this email. If there are installation issues later, you can reuse the QR code from your email.

Step 5: Make the Payment

Choose your preferred payment method:

• GCash
• Debit card
• Credit card
  Ensure you have at least ₱99 available. Complete the payment to proceed.

Step 6: Download and Activate the eSIM

• Select Download eSIM to this phone
• Make sure you have:
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection
  • Sufficient battery level

Follow the on-screen prompts:

• Tap Download eSIM
• Tap Allow
• Activate the eSIM

What Happens After Activation?

Once the eSIM connects to the TM network:

• Your physical SIM will be automatically disabled
• The eSIM will appear as a secondary line initially
• After full activation, the eSIM becomes your active line with the same mobile number

You can confirm this by checking your phone’s SIM settings, where you’ll see both the physical SIM (disabled) and the eSIM.
